Hauke Schotola

Hauke has extensive experience in crossborder M&A and syndicated loans. He is the co-head of the Financial Sponsors Group at RMB. Before joining RMB, he spent 13 years at Nomura International (based in South Africa), where he focused on crossborder M&A.
After completing his studies in London, Hauke started his career working in syndicated loans for Deutsche Zentralbank Hyp in Germany and Lehman Brothers in London.
His transaction advisory experience includes disposals of: Amrod to Oppenheimer Partners (ZAR3.5bn); IDM (undisclosed); The Courier Guy (undisclosed); The Beverage Company to Varun Beverages Limited (ZAR3.0bn); a 30% interest in Promasidor to Ajinomoto (US$532m); and a strategic interest in Dimension Data (ZAR6.0bn).
He was also involved in TCCC’s acquisition of a controlling interest in CCBA (US$5.4bn), the creation of Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (US$6.2bn), and Kansai Paints’ acquisition of Freeworld Coatings (the first hostile takeover in South Africa by a foreign buyer) (ZAR3.3bn).
Hauke graduated from London Metropolitan University with a degree in international relations and investment studies.
