Derek Thomson

Derek joined Clairfield in Australia in 2024. He is an experienced executive and director with a career spanning energy, mining, oil and gas, telecommunications, media, life sciences, and transport.

Prior to joining Clairfield, Derek was CEO of an ASX-listed nanotechnology company. His background is in corporate advisory, energy, and technology, and he has recently been working in the field of clean energy transition, executing renewable energy business frameworks. He is a non-executive director at HELP Enterprises and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and Advisory Board Council.

Derek graduated from Western Sydney University with a degree in business and finance and holds an MBA in corporate strategy from the Macquarie University Graduate School of Management.
