Alexander Klemm

Alex is executive chairman of Clairfield International in Geneva leading the board of directors of the group. In his career of over 30 years in investment banking he has advised many family businesses and their owners, private equity investors and boards of stock exchange listed corporates concerning business transformation, M&A and disposals as well as capital raising and IPOs. He continues to take a hands on role in client relationships and M&A transactions.
Alex worked for Deutsche Bank/Morgan Grenfell, Lehman Brothers, UBS, JPMorgan Cazenove and Hauck Aufhaeuser in London, New York, and Frankfurt as a managing director and CEO. He joined Clairfield in 2015.
Alex was born in South Africa. He received an undergraduate degree in politics and economics from Bristol University, an MBA from Columbia Business School, a PhD in Finance from Freie Universität Berlin, and an executive diploma from Stanford Business School.
He has published on venture capital, financial markets, and church history and supports a number of charities and think tanks. He is an advisory board member of the private investment office Praesidium, domiciled in Luxembourg.
