Clairfield advises Minebea Mitsumi Co., Inc. on the acquisition of Mast Kunststoffe GmbH & Co. KG

Precision Motors Deutsche Minebea GmbH, the European subsidiary of Japanese Minebea Mitsumi Co., Inc., is taking over the company Mast Kunststoffe GmbH & Co.KG, subject to the approval of the anti-trust authorities.

Precision Motors Deutsche Minebea GmbH is a crucial development center for motors in the MinebeaMitsumi Group. The PMDM product portfolio comprises propulsion systems for industry and automotive applications, as well as hard disc drive motors, highly efficient electronically commutated BLDC motors, and energy harvesting systems. PMDM currently has about 400 employees in Villingen-Schwenningen.

Mast Kunststoffe, founded in 1960 by Franz Mast, is a plastic processing company which has built up a stellar reputation for the production of plastic molding precision parts. Peter and Ulrich Mast, sons of the founder, became shareholding executive directors in the 1990s and developed the company into a leader in plastic gear and drive components. Mast Kunststoffe currently has 130 employees in Bad Waldsee.

The takeover of Mast Kunststoffe by PMDM will open significant perspectives, great growth possibilities, and synergies in an international context, allowing PMDM to reinforce and broaden its drive component product range. As the new owner, PMDM will improve production scale, quality, and productivity of precision injection molding parts to strengthen the local production activities of Mast Kunststoffe, creating a European competence center.

Clairfield International acted as exclusive financial advisor to Minebea Mitsumi Inc.
