Circles Group sold to Optio Group

Circles Group was sold to Optio Group, a leading global managing general agency (MGA) specialising in specialty insurance solutions, backed by Preservation Capital Partners.

Circles Group, headquartered in Luxembourg, is a globally leading MGA for the entertainment, arts, and luxury sectors, including events, films, fine arts, and live entertainment. With a well-established presence in Europe and across key international markets, Circles Group has built a reputation for offering tailored, cutting-edge insurance products and risk management solutions to its clients.

Optio Group, headquartered in the UK, is a fast-growing MGA platform specializing in complex and specialty risks, with a global presence spanning key markets in Europe, the US, and Asia. Backed by Preservation Capital Partners, Optio Group’s acquisition of Circles Group and BCOH will significantly enhance its product offering and geographic reach, particularly in the entertainment, luxury, and bespoke insurance markets.

This acquisition will allow Optio Group to leverage the combined expertise of Circles Group and BCOH, strengthening its market position in Europe while expanding its footprint in niche insurance markets globally.

Clairfield International acted as exclusive financial advisor to the shareholders of Circles Group.

Olivier Héger, CEO, Circles Group, who will continue to lead the company, said: “Optio and Circles Group share highly complementary cultures, values and skillsets, which combined creates the depth of expertise needed to respond to the increasingly global, complex and highly sophisticated demands of clients. This will also significantly strengthen both companies in achieving their strategic objectives; for Optio, expansion into Europe, and for us, a deeper connection with London, the home of insurance. I want to thank the whole Optio team for this exciting opportunity, which promises to be mutually rewarding for both businesses and importantly our clients.”
