Clairfield proudly supports director David Hassum on initiative for breast cancer research

Clairfield International is proud to support Ride4Vee, an initiative to raise money for breast cancer research at the Queensland Institute of Medical Research in Australia.

The initiative is in honor of the memory of Veronica “Vee” Best, the companion of our colleague David Hassum in Brisbane. Vee was a remarkable woman, an avid traveller, and lover of life, nature, and animals. She died of breast cancer in 2018 at the age of 53.

In her memory David Hassum intends to cycle an 1,800 km stretch of the famous Great Divide Mountain Bike Route through the Rocky Mountains from Banff, Alberta to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. He will ride solo and expects to take between 32 and 35 days. This Ride4Vee can be supported with donations or pledges per kilometer completed.

All funds raised will go directly to the QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute, which is performing world-leading research into the detection and treatment of triple negative breast cancer, one of the most aggressive and least understood types of breast cancer. The research focuses on identifying a biomarker capable of accurately diagnosing aggressive breast cancers at a very early stage, and on developing strategies to best harness the immune system to eliminate cancer.

Donations can be made either as a lump sum or per kilometer achieved. All support is appreciated. Click here for more information: http://www.4vee.net/.
