Giving back to the community

In this holiday season, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to our clients for their support and trust in us throughout the past year. It is through their successes that we are able to continue our commitment to social and environmental responsibility. At Clairfield we believe that true success is achieved when it is shared and used as a force for good.

Our team at Clairfield takes immense pride in our charitable endeavors and longstanding partnerships with not-for-profit organisations that serve local and international needs. Whether through volunteering, fundraising, or offering educational support and pro bono business advice, we are dedicated to making a positive impact.

In the spirit of the season, we would like to shine a light on the charitable activities that our Clairfield partner firms proudly champion around the world.

Un Enfant par la Main

Our French team supports Un Enfant par la Main, a member of the Child Fund Alliance that supports over 150,000 disadvantaged children and their families in 21 countries in Africa, China, and South America. In Madagascar, Un Enfant par la Main helps children obtain birth certificates to recognise their fundamental rights, including education and healthcare.  French partner Thierry Chetrit was able to visit his sponsored child and witness the work of the local team in Madagscar. Thierry says “Hortensia walks three hours a day to and from school. The school has no electricity or running water and few teaching materials, but is growing and improving. Thanks to the team the girls have the opportunity to remain in school longer and delay marriage, to forge a path out of poverty and contribute to the development of their country. Bravo and thank you to Un Enfant par la Main.”

Rotary Club

Rotary Club is one of the world’s largest and most successful global membership and humanitarian service organisations, with 1.2 million members in over 200 countries. This year, The Rotary Club has continued its much-needed work in bringing medical supplies to Ukraine and in Poland continues in its efforts to help Ukrainian refugees.

Johanniter

In Germany, the Clairfield team supports two organisations, Johanniter Zentrum and Johanniter Tagesklinik in Koblenz. Managing partner Dr Albert Schander is chair of the board of trustees and is passionate about these charities and their positive impact on improving child and adolescent mental health. “Post-pandemic, these services have been even more important to the next generation and society,” says Albert.

Leman’an Achai

Our Israeli office supports Lema’an Achai for its dedication to helping people break the cycle of poverty. Leman’an Achai helps families through counselling, scholarships, seed loans, retraining single mothers, coaching families on how to work with a budget, vocational training, and mentoring programmes.

This year Tom McCarthy in the UK ran the London Marathon to support KidsOut, which brings fun and happiness to disadvantaged children. Tom is also active on the local KidsOut committee. Some of the wonderful things they organise are presents at Christmas, fun days out, and educational support. KidsOut provides underprivileged children across the UK with exciting memories to cherish.

Our team in Italy allocates a part of the company profits to its foundation, Fondazione Equita, which supports charities in Italy. The foundation’s objectives are numerous with a special focus on educating, training, and developing young people, supporting Italy’s arts and culture sectors, and promoting financial and economic education.

Clairfield in Australia continues to support students at The University of Queensland in memory of our office founder, Paul Rogers. The company annually funds The InterFinancial Excellence in Economics scholarship. In making this gift to the University, our company honours its commitment to providing opportunities for talented yet economically disadvantaged students. This fund is a reminder of Paul’s vision and provides a legacy in his name.

QUT, the Law Founders’ scholarship fund, was established by executive chair Sharon Doyle and supports first-year law students experiencing financial hardship. Sharon, who completed her law degree at QUT, is dedicated to helping students who want to follow in her footsteps. This scholarship provides an annual financial scholarship, educational materials, and peer connections to ensure they are supported through challenging times.

Clairfield in Australia is a majority women-owned company, boasts a majority-women board, and most staff are women. The team recognises the importance of maintaining the pipeline of talented women into the financial industry. Founded in 2019, The UQ Women’s Network is building a community of highly motivated young women with the skills, network, and confidence to succeed in traditionally male-dominated professions.

Every year, the Clairfield team in Australia donates a day of giving to a local charity. This year’s charity is Habitat for Humanity, which makes a real difference in the local community by supporting low-income families and vulnerable groups by building or repairing shelters, reducing disaster risk, and aiding recovery. Their programs rely on the hard work and support of volunteers.

Robert College High School scholarship fund provides educational scholarships for students in Istanbul. Approximately a quarter of students at Robert College receive financial aid. Clairfield is proud to support the Robert College academic fund.

From the green urban parrots to the rare Paloma Turque, birds are essential indicators of the health of the environment. Kim Rizvi has supported SEO Birdlife for over ten years. The world’s bird population is decreasing, and organisations such as these are vital in slowing the path to extinction of many bird species. “National ornithological societies such as SEO Birdlife in Spain are helping to conserve our birdlife and, in turn, conserve the biodiversity of our environment through the protection of habitats, community projects, and petitions,” says Kim.
