HomeToGo acquired Interhome from Migros
HomeToGo SE, a SaaS-enabled vacation rental marketplace, acquired Interhome, Europe’s second-largest vacation rental management company, from Migros for CHF 150 million, with deferred payments up to CHF 85 million.
Founded in 1965, Interhome manages ~40,000 vacation rentals across 20 countries. The acquisition significantly expands HomeToGo’s B2B segment, HomeToGo_PRO, which will contribute over 55% of total revenues. The deal is expected to generate EUR 330 million in pro-forma revenues and triple adjusted EBITDA in FY2024.
Why this is a transformative deal:
- Market leadership: Interhome, one of Europe’s largest vacation rental management platforms, adds approximately 40,000 exclusive properties across 28 countries, strengthening HomeToGo’s leadership in the vacation rental industry.
- Massive growth: The deal is expected to increase HomeToGo’s FY24 pro-forma IFRS revenue by about 55% to over EUR 330 million while tripling adjusted EBITDA to over EUR 30 million.
- Synergies & expansion: With Interhome’s strong brand, full-service rental expertise, and 9-year average property contracts, HomeToGo gains a highly loyal supply base and enhanced B2B capabilities.
- A prestigious seller and competitive process: Migros, one of Switzerland’s largest and most respected retailers, built Interhome into a premier vacation rental brand. Acquiring such a high-quality asset required navigating a competitive, multi-party process, where Clairfield’s approach and buy-side expertise ensured a successful outcome for HomeToGo.
