Clairfield advises Gama Aviation Plc on the acquisition of Specialist Aviation Services
Gama Aviation Plc acquired the trade and assets of Specialist Aviation Services. The transaction significantly increases the scale of Gama Aviation Plc’s Special Mission strategic business unit.
Specialist Aviation Services is one of the leading Helicopter Emergency Medical Services operators in the UK, operating and maintaining six Leonardo AW169 helicopters for three air ambulance charities. It acts as a Leonardo Service Centre and a MD Helicopters Service Centre from its base at Staverton airport (Gloucestershire, UK) with Part 145 and Part 21 approvals for its own fleet and third-party clients including the London Air Ambulance and the Royal Bahraini Helicopter Flight. In addition, it provides maintenance personnel to support seven helicopters in Kuwait and three helicopters in Bahrain.
All parties were intensely focused throughout transaction on ensuring continuity of service to Specialist Aviation Services’ air ambulance charities in their life-saving operations.
