Yuriy Aleinikov is a senior partner for corporate finance at Clairfield Russia. He has extensive experience in M&A advisory services and business valuation. During 2007-2010 Yuriy worked in the corporate finance department at KPMG and was involved in large valuation projects for fundraising and business-planning projects. Prior to joining Clairfield Russia, Yuriy worked with a large Russian private-equity fund and was responsible for investment analysis. He made significant contributions to the improvement of portfolio performance.Yuri holds bachelor and MS degrees from Moscow University of Physics and Technology.
Toby Arrowsmith is a director at Clairfield UK having joined the team at Invex Partners in 2001.Toby focuses on MBOs, MBIs, and BIMBOs across a wide range of industry sectors, working closely with management teams in owner-managed businesses. Toby is also heavily involved in Clairfield UK’s investment and restructuring activities, working closely with businesses requiring development capital or in distressed situations. He is non-executive director of Homes Caring for Autism, iESCo and Laidlaw and is part of the senior management team at Abacus and Homebuy. He was shortlisted for Midlands Insider Young Dealmaker of the Year 2011 and has helped Intrinsic win Turnaround Team of the Year for 3 of the last 4 years. Prior to his career in corporate finance Toby has worked for both a Big 4 and a regional firm of Chartered Accountants in the audit and specialist projects department. Massimo Banfi joined Clairfield Italy in 2005 and now serves as manager. He began his career in the audit department of PricewaterhouseCoopers. He was then an investment analyst in Cape Natixis SGR, the management company of an Italian private equity fund, and an M&A analyst at Ernst & Young. Massimo has a degree in finance from the Catholic University of Milan and obtained a masters in merchant banking at LIUC University.
Andrea Bianchini is manager at Clairfield Italy. Prior to Clairfield he worked for an important Italian law and accounting firm, where he gained wide experience in tax and accounting consultancy, financial analysis, and company valuations. Andrea has a degree in economics from Modena University and is a certified public accountant.
Saman Bidgol holds a masters in electrical engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology and a bachelors in economics and statistics from Stockholm University. Saman has also studied at Stanford University as part of his masters.
Allan Bjørn is an associate partner at Clairfield Denmark and has a special focus on M&A for Danish and foreign clients in the sectors of consumer products, internet, media, marketing, construction, and real estate. Alexander Blom is an associate at Clairfield Norway. Prior to joining Clairfield, he was an associate at ACP Capital Limited, a London-based investment firm focusing on small and medium-sized companies. Alexander has also worked as a corporate finance analyst at Bear Stearns in London. Michał Brauntsch is a senior associate at Clairfield Poland and has been with the firm since 2014. Gunnar Brundin has more than 25 years of experience at Investor AB, Carnegie and Kaupthing Bank. He has held management positions as head of corporate finance at Kaupthing and has significant experience in complex transactions, including crossborder M&A and debt restructurings.
Birgir Brynjolfsson is a partner and founding member of Clairfield Miami (Antarctica Advisors). He has over ten years of professional experience in seafood and financial services in Europe and North America. Prior to forming Antarctica Advisors, Birgir served as an M&A advisor at Glacier Securities in New York, where he was responsible for advisory to a diverse range of corporations in the seafood industry worldwide. Throughout his professional career, Birgir has served as an advisor in multiple functions within the banking industry at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Kaupthing Bank in Iceland. Birgir Brynjolfsson maintains Series 24, 79 and 63 securities licenses. He holds a B.S. degree in business administration from the University of Iceland and an MBA degree in global finance from Thunderbird School of Global Management in Phoenix.
Peter Bull is associate director at Clairfield UK. Peter has worked in corporate finance with the team for over 15 years at Bentley Jennison, Invex Partners, Kroll Corporate Finance, and now Clairfield UK. He is a chartered accountant and spent the initial period of his career working in auditing for a number of mid-tier firms before joining Bentley Jennison in 1991. His corporate finance experience has seen him focus on MBO, MBI and BIMBO transactions, particularly with owner-managed businesses. Peter has worked on transactions covering a range of sectors, but with a focus on manufacturing and distribution businesses.
Kai-Peter Burger has been advising on crossborder corporate finance and mergers & acquisitions for over twenty years. Kai was trained at PwC in business valuations and the European Privatization & Investment Corporation (EPIC) in M&A advisory services for the energy sector. As one of the founding partners of COM Partners in Vienna, he followed his affinity for the tech sector and advised on midmarket transactions primarily in the internet & media and software & IT sectors in Eastern and Central Europe. After joining Corporate Finance Partners, he worked as managing director in Austria. In 2016 Kai joined Clairfield International as a partner in Vienna. Kai studied at Vienna University of Economics and Business and at HEC Paris with a focus on corporate finance.
Hans Buysse is partner at the Antwerp office of Clairfield Belgium and has more than 20 years of banking and corporate finance experience. His expertise includes buyside and sellside assignments, as well as MBOs and IBOs in the energy & utilities, telecom, real estate, and infrastructure sectors. He has extensive experience in structured finance, financial restructuring, strategic advisory, valuations and PPP and has been involved in most significant Belgian PPP deals. He began his career at KU Leuven and moved to Generale Bank in 1992. He co-founded the corporate finance division at Deloitte & Touche Belgium in 1997. Hans was a partner in corporate finance for KPMG until 2007. Most recently, he was head of M&A for Belgium at NIBC Bank. Hans is the vice-chairman of the Belgian Association of Financial Analysts as well as serving on other boards. He holds a masters degree in applied economics, a masters degree in management, and a degree in tax. He is a certified European Financial Analyst (FSA accredited).
Francisco Casero, managing director, is an expert in infrastructures, project finance, emerging markets, and corporate development, with experience in commercial trading and international industrial trusts. Francisco was previously a principal and senior advisor at Acay Consulting. Prior to that he was international vice president at CAF and held positions as vice president, director, and advisor at companies including Knorr Bremse, Acerinox, and Banco Urquijo-Gespamex. Francisco has a degree in industrial engineering with a specialization in industrial organization from the ETSII.
Guy Catteau has over 30 years of experience as finance and managing director, predominantly with industrial companies. His career began in 1972, as a consultant with Touche, Ross & Co. He made major achievements for the Générale de Belgique group during the restructuring of Acec-UM, and as CFO of Fabrique Nationale Herstal. In 1991, Guy became CFO of Etex Group (Eternit), where he restructured the financial organization and conducted the takeover bid on the listed Etex. Since 1997, he has fulfilled numerous assignments as financial consultant, change manager, or non-executive director. Guy is a commercial engineer (Louvain) and holds an MBA from the University of Chicago.
Pablo Cervantes is a managing director at Clairfield Mexico. He has vast experience as a board member of some of Mexico’s leading corporations, and as an investment banker and operator in several industries. Pablo currently serves or has served on the board of Kuo (MX: KUO), Dine (MX: DINE), Beta San Mónica, BCBA Impulse, Reasinter, and Polycrom, among others. Prior to Clairfield Mexico, Pablo worked as a banker for IXE bank in Mexico and JP Morgan in New York, where he executed many equity and debt capital-market transactions ranging in size from USD 2 million to USD 200 million. Prior to entering banking, he served as chief operating officer of Polycrom, one of Mexico’s leading conglomerates with over USD 500 million in revenues generated from its agriculture, dairy products, sugar processing, and real estate businesses in Mexico and Spain. Before Polycrom, Pablo worked as director of risk analysis at Reasinter in the reinsurance sector. Pablo is a chemical engineer with a degree from Universidad Iberoamericana and he holds an MBA from Mexico’s IPADE Business School.
Thierry Chetrit founded French boutique intuitucapital, the precursor to Clairfield France, in 1998 focusing on mergers & acquisitions, private placement, and investment activities. Thierry has advised many sell-side and buy-side transactions, with particular expertise in crossborder transactions involving both strategic buyers and private equity funds. He has advised numerous industries including business services, IT and media, food, and healthcare. Thierry supports the social impact investment firm PE Impact Partenaires and is a partner in the early stage investment firm Creative Valley. He was formerly managing director of BBDO France (Omnicom Group, NYSE), where he executed many acquisitions while holding financial and operational responsibilities. He began his career at PriceWaterhouseCoopers. Thierry was also a member of the supervisory board of the food company Group Madrange (EUR 300 million in sales) from March 2009 to July 2011 before selling it to the group Monique Piffaut (William Saurin, Paul Prédault). He is one of the co-founders and a current board member of Clairfield International.
Peter Chudy is a partner at Clairfield Poland where he is responsible for M&A activities in the healthcare, industrials, business services, and consumer & retail sectors. With more than 30 years of merger and acquisition experience, he has been involved in more than 50 transactions including clients such as Pepsi, Heinz, Bristol-Myers Squibb, and Eli Lilly. Prior to 1990, Peter was with the Chemical Bank of New York, now part of Chase Manhattan Bank. He graduated from the University of Denver (BA, MA) and the American Graduate School of International Management (MBA).
Pablo Coballasi is a managing director at Clairfield Mexico. Over the last 20 years Pablo has worked as a private equity investor, investment banker, and consultant in the United States and Latin America. Since 2005, Pablo has helped build Clairfield Mexico into one of Mexico’s leading middle-market investment banking practices. As head of the firm’s investment banking practice, Pablo has sourced and executed buy-side and sell-side mandates ranging in size from USD 10 million to USD 600 million for leading private-equity firms, corporations, and families. Before Clairfield Mexico, Pablo served as vice president of FondElec Capital Advisors in New York, one of Latin America’s first private equity firms, where he helped managed a PE portfolio of over USD 600 million of mainly telecom and energy investments in Brazil, Mexico, and the United States. Before FondElec, Pablo worked as a consultant for Deloitte Consulting/Braxton Associates and served clients in Mexico, Argentina, Central America, and the United States. Pablo holds a degree in mechanical engineering from Vanderbilt University and an MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management.
Jean-Noël Combasson spent 11 years at Banque Populaire, first as chargé d’affaires for small and midcap companies, and then as an expert in company buyouts. He joined Clairfield Lyon (previously Valactif) in 2008 as a mission director and is now a partner. Jean-Noël led operations in the fields of plastic injection, transport, industry, metal, pharmaceutics, public lighting, plant extraction, communication, and others. He graduated from the Ecole Supérieure Libre des Sciences Commerciales Applications (ESLSCA – Paris) and the Banking Technical Institute (ITB).
Damien Coppieters has decades of experience as a commercial and investment banker specializing in M&A for the services, food, and industrial sectors as well as structured finance and PPP. Damien began his career with Generale Bank. In 1987 he joined the Group Banque Nationale de Paris (BNP), first as a commercial banker, and then moving to managing director of its Benelux investment banking arm. In 1997 Damien moved to Mees Pierson and then joined KPMG Corporate Finance in 1999 as director in the new Brussels office. In 2005 he founded Clairfield operations in Belgium. Damien holds a degree in commerce and finance and is also member of the board of a number of family-owned Belgian companies.
Luis Coria is a partner and managing director at Clairfield Mexico. Luis has been an investment banker for more than 18 years and joined Clairfield in 2014. He has led debt and equity capital financings worth more than USD 15 billion, mergers and acquisitions worth more than USD 2 billion, risk management transactions worth more than USD 2 billion, significant debt restructurings, and other relevant financial transactions. Prior to joining Clairfield Mexico, Luis was the head of BNP Paribas’s corporate and investment banking team in Mexico. Previously he spent several years working in senior investment banking positions for JP Morgan in New York and Mexico. Luis holds a degree in industrial engineering from the Universidad Iberoamericana and an MBA from the University of Michigan.
Jean-François Cruciani has been working on M&A transactions for the past 17 years, with a focus on advising mid-sized clients in the consumer, healthcare, business services, and industrials sector on international acquisitions, strategic investments, or divestitures of non-core activities. He began his career at Rabobank International in Paris, and joined intuitucapital and Clairfield International at its founding in 2003. He has worked for clients such as Bourbon, Bel, Madrange, Fenner plc, Transgourmet, Urgo, and private equity investors. Jean-François holds a masters in finance and private banking from ESCP Europe Business School in Paris, after graduating from the Political Sciences Institute of Bordeaux.
Christian de Charentenay has more than 25 years of experience in international M&A and management. He started his career at Dover Corporation where he managed business units in Singapore, Sweden, Germany, and France (Imaje Group). He was then M&A director for Europe at Brady Corporation where he acquired unique expertise in the industries of identification, health, and safety as well as B2B distribution. In 2014, he founded M&A Value to advise entrepreneurs based in the west of France on ownership transitions and international development. Christian graduated from EM Lyon.
Sjoerd de Jong is an associate at Clairfield Netherlands where he focuses on the TMT and business services sector within M&A, debt advisory, project finance, and financial modelling. He joined Clairfield Netherlands in 2012. Sjoerd studied at the VU university Amsterdam and UCD Quinn school of business in Dublin and holds a masters degree cum laude in finance.
